Senior Living Scoop: How do I know when it's time for senior living?

If your loved one experiences falls, is lonely, or is having more difficulty managing their home, it could be time to consider senior living. You may notice forgetfulness – such as missed medications, forgotten appointments, or accidentally leaving an appliance on such as a stove or sink. Sometimes, it’s simply wanting an easier lifestyle with more social connection and support. Ask yourself if you or your loved one can live safely in their home. If you’re seeing any of these signs, it’s time to consider senior living.

Four Areté Living senior living communities have been recognized as a 2025 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for their commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care. This distinction is the first of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The program honors providers across the nation who have demonstrated their dedication to enhancing the quality of care for our nation’s elders and individuals with disabilities.

The winning communities are:

I am grateful to our teams for their continued passion and diligent work on this quality journey. We remain steadfast in pursuing excellence in everything we do.”

Ovation Heartwood Preserve Named 3-Time Omaha’s Choice Winner

Ovation Heartwood Preserve is proud to be named Omaha’s Choice for the third consecutive year!

This year, the team earned first place in Independent Living and named winners for Assisted Living and Memory Care. Hosted by the Omaha World-Herald, local citizens voted for their top businesses, including senior living, restaurants, and more.

This distinguished award comes at the same time as Ovation Heartwood Preserve’s first anniversary of opening its Independent Living. The community opened Assisted Living and Memory Care in 2022, earning many accolades since, including Best of Omaha, the Customer Experience award from Activated Insights, and the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

Independence Day, July 4

Happy Independence Day! The fourth of July marks the birth of the United States of America. On this day in 1776, the Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence. It was signed later that year on August 2. Today we remember and celebrate our freedom!

National Disability Independence Day, July 26

This day commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act into law in 1990. This act protects people with disabilities from discrimination. The law includes voting, parking, and many areas of public life.

Parents’ Day, July 27

Parents’ Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday each July. This is a day to honor parents and those who support and help raise children. Thank you to all who fill this important role!
