This article highlights five activities that seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia can do to have a positive mindset.
Featured Message: Avamere at Seaside Earns Deficiency-Free State Survey
Avamere at Seaside, an independent living and memory care community in Seaside, Oregon, is proud to earn a deficiency-free state survey. The survey was conducted November 3-5, 2025.
This on-site inspection conducted by the Department of Human Services (DHS) is based on state compliance guidelines. It examines resident quality of care and quality of life, dietary services, fire safety, and environmental services. The survey includes interviews with residents, residents’ family members, and employees.
One of the evaluators complimented Avamere’s thoroughness in its activities program, noting the team’s strong ability to create individualized activity plans for residents.
Larry Gooldy, Executive Director of Avamere at Seaside, stated: “Achieving a deficiency-free survey is a direct testament to the hard work and unwavering dedication of every staff member at Avamere at Seaside. Our team's resolve to meet the highest standards set by the state of Oregon reaffirms our commitment to being the community of choice on the North Coast."
This deficiency-free survey shortly follows Avamere at Seaside’s 2025 Customer Experience Award from Activated Insights, further exemplifying their commitment to quality care and service.
Avamere at Seaside offers two living options for seniors: independent living for active seniors seeking a destination retirement and memory care for seniors living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
The compassionate team offers services to enhance their quality of life, including chef-prepared meals, a vibrant life enrichment program, transportation options, in-home care in partnership with Caring for the Coast, and more.

The Oaks Leaders Featured in Women in Business
Two leaders at The Oaks at Lebanon were honored to be featured in Women in Business magazine.
Angie Kutsch, Executive Director, has loyally served at The Oaks at Lebanon through her career, beginning as a caregiver in 1990. She’s served as Executive Director for 18 years, a well-respected leader in the community.
Jenni Grove, Director of Sales and Outreach, has been serving seniors at The Oaks at Lebanon for almost nine years. She is a strong advocate of seniors and is active in the local community, supporting organizations and events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Lebanon Strawberry Festival, Lebanon Chamber Ambassadors, and Lebanon Rotary.
The Oaks at Lebanon is a trusted senior living community with a 36-year legacy. Angie and Jenni are two of the incredible long-tenured teammates at The Oaks, many with over 20 years of service in our senior living community.
Here’s what Angie and Jenni shared during their Q&A with Women in Business.
What keeps you motivated in your career?
Angie: “Love for my residents.”
Jenni: “I love helping potential residents find a place where they can thrive. Loneliness can be overwhelming, but living in community brings true health and joy. It’s wonderful to see residents engage life and have a heck of a lot of fun!”
“The Oaks is a place where we engage life and have a heck of a lot of fun” is a tagline the team has lived by for years. And this shows in their quality care, lively atmosphere, and happy residents and families!
What are you most proud of professionally?
Angie: “Continued success at The Oaks and my team.”
Jenni: “I love helping pull seniors out of isolation. We’ve stayed over 90% full in our 104 apartments for the last eight years.”
