WILSONVILLE, Ore. – The Oregon Health Care Association granted Dr. Elizabeth Burns, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the Avamere Family of Companies (AFC), one of four Special Services Awards for 2021. Dr. Burns joins three other Avamere recipients for 2021, making the company the top-earning awards recipient across all who were honored.
Dr. Burns has been CMO with Avamere for two years and has been instrumental in opening dedicated COVID-19 units in several Avamere skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
According to the OHCA, Dr. Burns helped contribute valuable support to their enhanced efforts to support senior care providers via policies and best practices to keep residents and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the OHCA’s Pandemic Response Team, she helped to guide the priorities of OHCA staff to ensure providers were able to receive ongoing guidance and expertise to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic to assure the best interest of residents, families, and staff was met.
